StoryCorps Oral History Project

Sign up today to record your story!

Two microphones. Two people. One incredible conversation.

You are invited to share and record a conversation with a family member or friend for generations to come with the new Bridges Library System’s “Gathering and Sharing Stories” initiative.

We have partnered with StoryCorps, a national oral history non-profit, to record and preserve community stories and we’d love for you to be part of it! All stories are recorded with a trained facilitator; recordings can then be added to the StoryCorps Archive and Library of Congress (optional) or kept private based on the participants’ wishes.

What do I talk about?

Every life is a remarkable journey filled with triumphs, challenges, and invaluable wisdom. Talk about your personal adventures, cherished moments, lessons learned, or simply sit down with a friend and reminisce. Your story will live on for generations to come.

Want to record your story?

The StoryCorps sessions are open to anyone. There are scheduled sessions available at Dwight Foster Public Library in Fort Atkinson and Waukesha Public Library in Waukesha. Other recording locations, dates and times may be available upon request. Whether you’re ready to preserve your story or just want more information, please contact us through the form below and we will get in touch with you.

Interested? Questions or comments can be directed to Amy Christian at achristian@fortlibrary.org or 920-563-7790. You can also sign up here online.
