Thursday, July 26 at 6:30 pm the Dwight Foster Public Library welcomes Karen Duvalle of the Manitowoc Maritime Museum. Karen will share the story of World War II submarines built in the Manitowoc shipyards. How and why were the submarines built so far from the ocean? She will share the story of the submarine USS Cobia drydocked at the Museum; 2018 is her 75th anniversary. Duvalle will also tell us about the loss and discovery of USS Lagarto. This submarine was built in Manitowoc, sunk in the Pacific during WW II and the wreck was discovered in 2005. Join us for this fascinating presentation!
This program is co-sponsored by Don Millar and the Jefferson County Veterans Service.
