Storytime Sessions:

There is no Storytime in December, April, and August.

Storytime Schedule

Tuesdays 6:15 to 6:45 p.m.
Tuesday storytime is "Intergenerational."
The first Tuesday of the month is in Spanish and English. (Sessions 1 and 2)
The first Tuesday of the month is in sign language. (Session 3)
Wednesdays 9:15 to 9:45 a.m.
Wednesdays 10:15 to 10:45 a.m.

Junior Friends of the Library

What is Junior Friends?

Junior Friends is a library service organization for students in the sixth (6) grade and above.

What is the organization's purpose?

To promote an appreciation for the library and proper care of its materials by accomplishing tasks and helping staff.

What are the requirements?

A student must complete one hour of training before tasks are assigned. The trainings are held on the first Thursday of each month from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. when school is in session. A student is asked to complete fifteen (15) hours of service throughout one year (September thru August). A student cannot work more than two hours per week. Students qualify for the following awards per year:
eight (8) hours - leather book mark.
twelve (12) hours - overnighter at the library on the last day of school in June.
fifteen (15) hours -

  • first year - bronze medal
  • second year - silver medal
  • third year - gold medal
  • fourth year and on - $25 gift certificate at local bookshop

What to do to join?
Return the signed permission slip at the bottom of the page. Come to a one (1) hour training session with the youth services librarian on the first Thursday of the month (Sept. - Apr.) 4 - 5:00 p.m
NOTE: NO TRAINING MAY, JUNE, JULY and AUGUST.

What to do to start?
Do service hours after school, evenings, Saturdays, and/or during school vacations. Sign in, wear a Junior Friend pin, ask a librarian or staff person for tasks to do, write down tasks accomplished and sign out. Return pin.
