Library Ebook Reader Information
The library owns 2 different ebook readers: the Barnes & Noble Nook and the Sony Reader.
These readers can be checked out by any patron age 18 and over who has no fines or overdue items on their library account. They circulate for 14 days. There is no renewal. There is no grace period. Overdue charges of $1 per day will be assessed for late return of a reader. A current list of titles loaded on these devices is available at the circulation desk and on this Web page.
The ebook readers do not appear in the library catalog. The only way to place a hold on the a reader is to call or come in to the library.
All users will be required to sign an acknowledgment of replacement cost when they check out an ebook reader. Replacement costs for the Nook and the Sony Reader are $200 and $25 for a lost power cord.
These devices must be returned INSIDE the library and only to the Dwight Foster Public Library, not to any other library in the SHARE system.
