Foster Growth

Nothing demonstrates the vitality of a community better than a public library. In 1931, in the midst of the Great Depression, a children's wing was added to this library. It demonstrated, in a tangible way, Fort Atkinson's spirit during a very dark hour. Every day hundreds of people walk through our doors hoping to foster growth of one kind or another. This project will allow the library to better respond to the real needs of our citizens.

A library is the great equalizer for all people. For over one hundred years, our library has collected and stored, answered and referred. It is an incubator of ideas, a place to relax, and a place of research. Studies document that public libraries are key institutions for healthy communities. As Ben Franklin aptly stated:

"An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest."

As an institution, a public library pays enormous dividends to its community. Please help us with the important task of Fostering Growth in Fort Atkinson.

Donor Recognition

All donations to the campaign will be permanently recognized in the new library and listed on the library's web site (unless the donor wishes to be anonymous.) Donors of $500 or more will have their names recorded on a permanent donor wall, grouped in categories listed on the form.

Several naming opportunities are available. For more information, please contact the library.

The library is pleased to accept donations made in memory or honor of a loved one.
